Bissinger to talk on business of sports journalism

Journalist H.G. "Buzz" Bissinger will give a public talk March 10 at IUPUI. He will headline a conference, "Investigating the Business of College Athletics," that day.
Pulitzer Prize winner H.G. "Buzz" Bissinger, author of Friday Night Lights and contributor to Vanity Fair magazine, will talk about his the business of sports journalism at 7 p.m. March 10 at the Campus Center at IUPUI. The IU National Sports Journalism Center is sponsoring the talk, which is free and open to the public.

The same day, Bissinger will headline a daylong seminar, "Investigating the Business of College Athletics," at IUPUI. The seminar will cover topics such as analyzing revenue and expense information, utilizing freedom of information laws and using social media to assist in reporting.

Bissinger’s latest work is the Vanity Fair profile of Tiger Woods. He also has written for The New York Times and Sports Illustrated, among other publications.
