Doctoral student Jessica Birthisel has been named one of 28 official scholars for the 2010 Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning National Institute June 2-5 in Omaha, Neb.

Her research on creativity training in the collegiate classroom will be featured at the institute, where she will also have the chance to workshop the project with scholars in the teaching and learning field. Birthisel is the only solo graduate student invited to present her work at the institute.

An initiative of the Carnegie Foundation, the CASTL Program supports learning through programs that focus on teaching, specifically ways to identify effective teaching practices and make them available to teachers and scholars.
