Doctoral student Jessica Birthisel will present her research on how newspaper narratives portray stay-at-home fathers at the next Research Colloquium at 4 p.m. Jan. 26 in Ernie Pyle Hall 214.

In “Do Dads Do It Differently? Charting domestic masculinity in news narratives of stay-at-home dads,” Birthisel will describe her analysis of nearly 300 newspaper articles in order to examine how reporters integrated themes of employment, income and economy in their portrayals of this population.

The school’s Research Colloquium series provides a venue for scholars to present their work and get feedback from colleagues. All are welcome to attend.
