Andrew Countryman, assistant business editor at the Chicago Tribune, counseled MJ Slaby on her clips during last fall’s Experts Workshop. The next workshop session is March 5.
The spring Experts Workshop will feature a multimedia editor and two public relations professionals who will help students refine their portfolios during one-on-one sessions March 5.

Shawn Chen (BAJ ’99), Associated Press central multimedia editor in Chicago; Mary Crawford (MA ’81), managing director of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller in Washington, D.C.; and Katie Rosholt (BAJ ’00), senior account supervisor at Edelman in Chicago, will be in Ernie Pyle Hall to spend about 20 minutes with a succession of students.

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies Michael Evans launched the workshops last fall as a way to match students with professionals who can offer advice.

To participate, students must submit samples of their work in advance so that the visiting professionals will have time to review. The deadline is noon Feb. 19 to sign up and submit materials to Linda Long in the School of Journalism office, EP 200. Seats are limited.
