Alumnus Gerould Kern, B.A. ’71, is the new executive editor of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper company announced Monday.
Kern had been vice president of editorial since 2003, but had spent most of his career in the newsroom. He was associate editor before assuming the role of vice president, had been associate editor and deputy managing editor/features, and had been associate managing editor for metropolitan news.
While at IU, Kern worked for the Indiana Daily Student. He replaced Ann Marie Lipinski, who resigned.
