Ten journalism students listen to MediaStorm founder Brian Storm talk about multimedia documentary content Friday at the Indianapolis Star.
Ten students and two professors sat in on the Indianapolis Star staff’s “Pizza Night” Friday to learn about long-form documentary multimedia reporting.
Alumnus and Star photographer Sam Riche (B.A.J. ‘01) invited students from associate professor Claude Cookman’s J210 Visual Communications class and associate professor Jim Kelly’s J344 Photojournalism Reporting class to attend. The program featured a presentation by Brian Storm, who launched MediaStorm in 2005 to produce documentary content for news and nonprofit Web sites.
Storm worked for MSN.com, MSNBC.com and Corbis before starting his studio. MediaStorm is based in New York City and is sponsored by WashingtonPost.com
