PRSSA president Kristina Hunter outlined the group's plans for the year at its first meeting of the semester.
The IU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America outlined its plan of action for the year and welcomed new members at its first meeting of the semester Sept. 14.

President Kristina Hunter welcomed the crowd and described PRSSA’s activities, which include fundraising, networking, event planning and promotions to give members a chance to practice various public relations duties.

Members are assigned to four committees: fundraising, community and campus outreach, publicity, and Bateman competition. Last year, the IU chapter received an honorable mention for its participation it the Bateman competition, a national contest that requires teams of college students around the country to devise and carry out a campaign.

Alumna Diana Biette, now a marketing manager for the Indianapolis Indians, shared her experiences with prospective members. She talked about how PRSSA helped her gain experience that contributed to her landing her job.

For more information about becoming a member, those interested may contact members Kristina Hunter or Helen Russick.
