New semester brings changes
New semester brings changes

Published: Aug. 23, 2007

As the school of journalism kicks off fall semester, students should be aware of some changes, including office reassignments, new classrooms and new faculty and staff.

News, changes and moves:

Some faculty and staff offices have changed. Professor Lesa Hatley Major is in EP 201. Communications director Beth Moellers and assistant Tim Street are in EP 215, which is inside the grad lounge.

New director of student experiences Jessica Gall is in EP 212B, also inside the grad lounge.

New faculty member Jim Kelly is in EP 209 and W. Joann Wong is in EP 211.

The new receptionist in the main office is Darla Kuh, who is available to help from 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. each day.

Visiting professor Nancy Comiskey is interim director of student publications, a post held by the late Dave Adams, who died in June.

The journalism library on the first floor is morphing into a computer/study area for students. Receptionist Grace Carpenter soon will be moving to that area to answer questions and help students.

IDS staffers will find newly renovated restrooms on the first floor, and upstairs, restrooms just received a fresh coat of paint.

Some students will see "EP 157" as their classroom assignments. This completely refurbished space formerly was known as "the pit" and is inside the multimedia lab on the first floor.

A final reminder: Classes will meet the Labor Day (Sept. 3).
