The Indiana University School of Journalism welcomes students from all over the world who are drawn to a master’s degree program that is tailored to their career goals and to the beautiful campus situated in south central Indiana. About one-third of current School of Journalism graduate students are from other countries and join more than 4,000 international students studying on the Bloomington campus.
One of our strengths is individualized curricula. Students are encouraged to work on independent projects with faculty to customize their educational experience. Independent study projects have allowed students to attend national journalism conferences and shadow national news correspondents in Washington as they cover the 2008 U.S. presidential election. Special courses include travel components that take students to Washington, D.C., Chicago, London and Tokyo.
World-renowned scholars and professionals on the faculty specialize in international communications, history, political communications, media law, health communications, ethics and new media. In addition to accomplished scholars, the journalism faculty includes talented, award-winning professionals with decades of experience in global public relations, international news reporting and photojournalism.
