Master's student, journalism and ethnomusicology
Anna Batcheller is pursuing master's degrees in the School of Journalism and the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology. Originally from upstate New York, she completed her BA in music from Wheaton College (IL) in 2007.
Anna is a graduate assistant at the Archives of Traditional Music at Indiana University. Former jobs include media and productions technician, camp counselor, and writer and photographer for the Indiana Daily Student. She interned in Papua New Guinea with an ethnomusicologist in 2005, researched traditional Buganda court music and volunteered at an HIV/AIDS organization in Uganda in 2006, worked as a peace intern and communications officer in Viet Nam in 2007-2008, and freelanced with the Daily Monitor newspaper in Uganda in 2009.
Anna is interested in international journalism and writing about ethnomusicology for the public.
