Biography

Jenny Porter is a part-time graduate student and works full time as the Media & Event Coordinator for the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at IU. She also works part time as a photographer and graphic designer for the Gill Center for Biomolecular Science at IU and volunteers as Publicity Coordinator for the IU Web & Multimedia Community. In 2005, Jenny received her bachelor's degree in Journalism and Secondary Education with a minor in English from Ball State University.
As a freshman at Ball State, Jenny began her career in journalism by working as a part-time writer and editor in the University Communications office. She also wrote and edited promotional materials as an office assistant in the Ball State Media Workshops office and spent one semester working as a features reporter for the Ball State Daily News. After college, Jenny worked as a part-time copy editor for the Southside Times weekly newspaper in Beech Grove, Ind. Before accepting her current position at IU, she worked as a copy editor and page designer for the Johnson County Daily Journal in Franklin, Ind.
