Why earn an advanced degree?
Graduate students come to IU School of Journalism from Indiana and from all over the world. Some recently completed college. Others are at an important transition point in life, personally or professionally.
The M.A. is right for you if you want:

The School of Journalism’s doctoral program is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country. The acceptance rate is about 25 percent, with five or six students admitted each year. For your Ph.D. in mass communications, you may design your own concentration or choose from communication and culture, communication and technology, international communication, media ethics and professionalism, media history, media law, political communication and visual communication.
