SPJ sponsors ‘Dining for Dave’ fundraiser

SoJ Web Report | Nov. 9, 2012
The IU chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is sponsoring a fundraiser, “Dining for Dave,” which raises money for the David L. Adams Memorial Scholarship offered by the School of Journalism.

To participate, dine at Buffa Louie’s, 114 S. Indiana, at any time Monday, Nov. 12, and the restaurant will donate 15 percent of proceeds to the scholarship. Take this flyer to make sure the your bill is included in the donation tally.

This fundraiser coincides with the school’s Speaker Series guest lecture. CBS broadcaster Byron Pitts will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Chapter member Michael Auslen suggests dining at Buffa Louie’s before or after the talk to support both school events.

“Dining for Dave” honors the memory of the late Dave Adams, who was director of Student Media for many years before his death in 2007. The official name of the campus chapter is the David Adams Memorial Chapter of SPJ at IU.
