Professor David Nord's book, In Faith in Reading: Religious Publishing and the Birth of Mass Media in America, recently won the Book of the year Award from the American Journalism Historians Association.
The book, published in 2004 by Oxford University Press, describes the non-commercial religious origins of modern media culture.
