The Hoosier Hills Food Bank Meal Share program rescues unserved, prepared food from restaurants that would have been thrown away. Volunteers label, repack and freeze it into family size portions. Member agencies then pick up the food to distribute it to those in need.
The volunteers from St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Bloomington have been working with the program since it first started in 1995. With help of volunteers like them 390,000 meals have gone to members of the community.
