Current residence: Brussels
Job: Editor, The Wall Street Journal Europe, and deputy managing editor, The Wall Street Journal
Describe your typical workday:
Long, as the European edition falls six hours behind our Asian edition and six hours ahead of our American edition; few meetings on a good day; quick decisions about story play; occasional editing.
Is this where you imagined you'd end up?
Dreamed of certainly but didn't quite think I would get there, definitely not by 39.
What's your proudest professional moment so far?
Transforming, in October, 2005, the international editions of The Wall Street Journal into compact tabloid formats with strong print/online integration.
What's your favorite memory of Bloomington or IU?
Classes with professor Dave Pritchard.
Tell us something about where you live that we don't know.
Brussels has amazing parks, gardens and forests to walk in and around.
