The Ross Hazeltine Traveling Scholarship is for a graduating senior who will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (B.A.J.) by August 2007.

This grant is for travel or study outside the territorial limits of the United States, Canada or Mexico. The Hazeltine Scholarship may not be used for an internship and travel time is for a two-month minimum.

Applications are reviewed by the School of Journalism undergraduate scholarship committee, which is composed of faculty members and an undergraduate student. Applications may be picked up in Ernie Pyle Hall 200 and are available on the Web.

Seniors who wish to be considered for the Hazeltine Scholarship must submit six copies of all materials (application, career objectives, specific project proposal, timetable or itinerary of your journey and a budget). During the selection process, candidates will be screened on the basis of their completed applications.

The deadline for submitting applications is Jan. 16. Turn in materials to Linda Long in the Ernie Pyle Hall main office, EP200, by 5 p.m. Late applications will not be
accepted, and the scholarship committee has been instructed to disregard late applications.
