Amy Reynolds, a law and broadcast journalism professor, has earned tenure six years after joining the faculty of the School of Journalism.

"It's one of those processes that, I think, everyone in academia appreciates and values and respects," she said. "To navigate it successfully leaves you with a really nice feeling. It's just a nice sign that I'm on the right track with my scholarship and my teaching."

Reynolds, who earned her master's degree in journalism from IU in 1991, worked as an assistant professor at Miami University of Ohio and the University of Oklahoma before joining IU. She earned her doctorate at the University of Texas.

Previously, she worked as a reporter both in print and broadcast, and was a city editor at the Indiana Daily Student.

In the fall, Reynolds will be teaching a graduate-level seminar on First Amendment law.
