Weaver article looks at German journalists
Weaver article looks at German journalists

Published: April 11, 2006

Roy Howard Professor David Weaver has published an article with several German colleagues in the April, 2006, issue of Journalism Studies that compares German and U.S. online journalists based on surveys done in both countries in 2002.

The comparisons show some striking differences between the two groups of journalists in basic characteristics, levels of professionalism, and perceptions of the most important roles.

For more details, see "American and German Online Journalists at the Beginning of the 21st Century," by Thorsten Quandt, Martin Loeffelholz, David H. Weaver, Thomas Hanitzsch, and Klaus-Dieter Altmeppen, Journalism Studies, Vol. 7, No. 2 (April, 2006), pp. 171-186.
