Graduate students and faculty looking for strategies to get their work published may want to attend "Academic Publishing: Insights, Tips, and Mistakes to Avoid" Tuesday, April 11, at 1 p.m. in Ernie Pyle Hall, Room 207.

Journalism History editor Patrick S. Washburn and School of Journalism professor David Nord will lead the discussion.

Washburn, an IU alumnus, is a professor at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and has written extensively on the black press of the 20th
Century.

Nord, who also is associate editor of the Journal of American History, includes in his research interests the history of American publishing, especially journalism and religious press.

The session is open to both graduate students
and faculty. For more information, contact Mike Conway at mtconway@indiana.edu.
