Reynolds and Barnett Publish Chapter in Book

Assistant Professor Amy Reynolds and former doctoral student Brooke Barnett (now an assistant professor at Elon University) have just published a chapter titled "America Under Attack: CNN's Verbal and Visual Framing of September 11" in Media Representations of September 11. The book is an edited volume published by Praeger. The Reynolds/Barnett chapter focuses on media coverage of September 11 and offers results from a qualitative analysis of both verbal and visual frames portrayed in the first 12 hours of CNN's coverage. The study shows how breaking news can provide the foundation for specific readings and the immediate construction of events.
