Grabe, Lang and Zhao appear in latest issue of Communication Research

An article by Betsi Grabe and co-authors Annie Lang, a professor and the graduate director of the Department of Telecommunications at IU, and Xiaoquan Zhao, (M.A. IU) who is now a Ph.D. candidate at University of Pennsylvania appeared in the latest issue of Communication Research. The title of the article is "News Content and Form: Implications for Memory and Audience Evaluations." This experiment examined the effects of tabloid and standard packaging styles on boring and arousing news stories. The results indicate that the bells and whistles of tabloid production features enhance memory for boring news items but overburden the information processing system when applied to arousing news content.
