Stocking Gave Invited Poster Presentation

Holly Stocking gave an invited poster presentation on April 23 to the Spring Celebration of the Indiana University's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning initiative. The poster presentation summarized her work on a course portfolio for her J410 course, Media as Social Institutions. The course is organized around the concept of Good Work, which consists of technical and ethical mastery. Students do a three-part report analyzing the technical and ethical quality of the work of a media professional and the causes and conditions, both individual and environmental, that helped or hindered the individual's ability to do good work. Lindsey Baron, a student in this course last fall, won this year's Frances G. Wilhoit award for the best undergraduate research paper. Her paper was on Janet Cooke.
