Professor Owen V. Johnson gave a lecture on "Ethnic Cleansing in Central Europe," at the Summer Workshop on Slavic and East European Languages, July 16 at Indiana University.

Later the same evening he appeared as a source on "History Detectives," on PBS. The program dealt with Ernie Pyle's typewriter.
