Doctoral student Gerry Lanosga will appear as a panelist at Indiana Coalition for Open Government?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s ?¢‚Ǩ?ìevening with access experts?¢‚Ǩ¬ù May 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pulliam National Journalism Center in Indianapolis.

The evening is designed to allow anyone interested in open access issues to hear from journalists and lawyers whose experience has lead to expertise in getting information from government and other sources, according to ICOG?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s press release.

Before coming to the school last fall, Lanosga worked at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, where he was part of an award winning series on failing tornado sirens. That project has won several awards, including a Peabody.

Others scheduled to be on the panel are alumnus Kevin Corcoran (B.A. '88), an award-winning and longtime investigative and government reporter for The Indianapolis Star, and Mike Wilkins, an attorney with Ice Miller who has successfully argued access issues before the Indiana Court of Appeals.

The event is free and open to the public, thought there is limited seating.
