  • The Record (Bergen County, N.J.) has two openings in the newsroom. First is a business reporter to cover breaking news and trends, and write enterprise on a wide variety of business topics. A minimum of three years of daily business writing experience, or its equivalent, is required. Second is a municipal reporter who can break news as well as cover breaking news, propose and execute enterprise ideas, spot significant regional trends and move quickly and surely to contribute developing stories to the Web. A minimum of three years of daily reporting experience, or its equivalent, is required.

  • Reuters Journalism Trainee Program
    The Reuters Journalism Trainee Program, operating out of London, New York and Singapore, seeks smart, innovative people who are passionate about covering and understanding the world. They may be recent graduates, working journalists, or people with specialist backgrounds – law, medicine, computer science, accounting or others – who want to start new careers. Trainees will receive nine-months of intensive classroom and hands-on training working with various reporting teams. Those who meet the rigorous standards will be offered staff positions and placed in one of our 200 bureaus across the globe subject to business needs and language skills, and assigned a mentor to help guide their careers.   • Bridgewater State University assistant professor
    The Department of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State University seeks an Assistant professor of multimedia journalism. The successful candidate for this full-time, tenure-track position will be an engaged teacher/scholar of converged digital-media production within a critical/cultural media studies framework. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach in multimedia journalism, including at least two of the following areas: multimedia journalism/reporting and production, social media, media literacy, or writing for media; a strong program of scholarly research; a willingness to contribute to the success of the department and the university; and a desire to advise and mentor undergraduate students.   • Chicago Daily Law Bulletin
    The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, a five-day, afternoon newspaper is looking for two reporters to fill two positions. The Springfield reporter covers the Illinois Supreme Court and Illinois legislature out of the one-person Springfield Bureau. The reporter will write about court cases, legislation affecting the legal community and trends in both areas. Daily responsibilities include writing at least one story a day and keeping on top of both sides of the beat.

    The general assignment reporter will write for the newspaper about lawyers who practice transactional law in such areas as intellectual property, employment law and corporate law. This reporter will also write trend stories for the monthly magazine, Chicago Lawyer magazine.
