IU student media had “a great showing” at the Indiana Collegiate Press Associations awards lunch Saturday, according to IDS editorial adviser Ruth Witmer. IU’s staffers in the advertising department, the Arbutus, the Indiana Daily Student, idsnews.com, INside and Weekend received 103 awards. The “School of Journalism family” gathered under red and white balloons in Alumni Hall Saturday to celebrate this year’s scholarship winners. During his opening remarks, Dean Brad Hamm said Scholarship Day is one of his favorites because it’s a chance to recognize the people who make the school what it is.
